The United States Agency for International Development is recruiting Vietnamese Nationals to fill the following positions for USAID/Vietnam.

General information: Recognizing the global HIV/AIDS pandemic as one of the greatest health challenges of our time, President George W. Bush announced the U.S. President?s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) which Vietnam became part of in June 2004. PEPFAR supports a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment program.

POSITION 1: HIV/AIDS Strategic Information Specialist based in Hochiminh City

The HIV/AIDS Strategic Information Specialist will provide technical assistance and leadership in measuring the impact of HIV/AIDS interventions in Southern Vietnam.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Possession of a Master?s Degree in the field of Social Science, Education, Public Health or a related field is required. Possession of an advanced degree (PHD, or MD) in a public health related field such as medicine, nursing, Health Sciences and Administration is highly preferred.

Prior Work Experience: A minimum of eight years (8) of professional experience in the field of public health or management of development projects is required. At least three (3) or more years of this experience with an U.S. Government Agency or other international/local organization or donor is a plus. Prior experience and technical knowledge in monitoring, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support are required. Project and/or organizational design and management experience is also a plus.

Salary: Position Grade: FSN-12. Salary and benefits will comply with the U.S. Mission?s Local Compensation Plan and Benefits Package. Trainee level will be established for the selected candidate if required qualifications are not met.

POSITION 2: HIV/AIDS Prevention Specialist based in Hochiminh City

The HIV/AIDS Prevention Specialist will join a dynamic team working to develop, implement and evaluate activities that aim to prevent the spread of HIV in Vietnam.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Possession of a Bachelor Degree in the field of Social Work, Education, Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Health Sciences and Administration or a related field is required. Possession of an advanced degree in a Public Health-related field such as medicine, nursing, health sciences and administration is highly preferred.

Prior Work Experience: The incumbent is required to have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in progressively more responsible positions in public health and development with at least three (3) years or more of this experience with a USG Agency or other international/local organization or donor. Prior experience in project implementation and technical or policy-related knowledge in drug abuse, community rehabilitation programs, and HIV/AIDS prevention are required. Project/organizational management experience is a plus.

Salary: Position Grade: FSN-11. Salary and benefits will comply with the U.S. Mission?s Local Compensation Plan and Benefits Package.
