Pathfinder International (PI) is a US-based NGO whose mission in Viet Nam is to improve reproductive health through capacity building and policy-focused initiatives that respond to the needs of the society. To this end, PI supports efforts to strengthen pre-service and in-service training in reproductive health, including core clinical reproductive health practices, youth-friendly services and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment. In addition, PI works to strengthen reproductive health management practices and policies supportive of quality RH training and services. Pathfinder is seeking highly qualified and experienced program staff for its new and continuing programs:

I. Title: Program Manager (PM) for Capacity Building of Professional Medical Associations ? 1 position:

The position of Program Manager involves leadership of a new initiative designed to strengthen the capacity of Professional Medical Associations to support the development of Viet Nam?s emerging private medical sector. The manager will direct project operations, oversee staff and ensure high quality and ultimate achievement of objectives under the project. In addition, the Program Manager plays a significant role in the overall strategic management of PI programs in Viet Nam by serving on the senior management team.

Requirements:

– Minimum of ten years experience in capacity building in the health sector;

– Master degree in related field

– Excellent leadership and management skills, including budget management ;

– Strong analytical skills

– Able to communicate and coordinate well with Vietnamese and international partners;

II. Title: Senior Program Officer (SPO) – 2 positions:

– One position specializing in Behavior Change Communication (BCC)

– One position specializing in Training

The Senior Program Officers provide technical leadership in key areas of PI?s programs. The SPO for BCC will play a lead role in developing social marketing strategies and messages to support the expansion of youth friendly services in Viet Nam as well as in the development of BCC messages and materials for various programs. The SPO for Training will support the expansion of Pathfinder?s pilot RH training network in the public sector as well as training activities of Professional Medical Associations. Both positions require the provision of monitoring and support to PI?s partners in Viet Nam.
 
Requirements:

– Minimum of eight years experience in RH or related field;

– Masters degree in related field

– Significant technical experience in designated area

– Experience in program management and implementation

– Strong understanding of national health system and policies;

– Experience in working with both central and provincial level partners;

– Able to communicate and coordinate well with Vietnamese and international partners;

III. Title: Program Officer (PO) ? 4 positions:

– One position specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation

– One position specializing in clinical RH

– Two positions specializing in health systems/organizational development

The position of PO involves the provision and coordination of technical assistance to PI?s partners and the monitoring and management of work plans and budgets. In addition to support to government and NGO partners, the PO manages a variety of programmatic activities and collaborates with international consultants and staff. POs are expected to develop their capacity in technical areas as well as in overall project management.

Requirements:

– Three or more years of experience working with an international or government organization;

– University degree required; master degree/medical background preferred (essential for clinical PO position);

– Knowledge of health systems and policies; knowledge of RH;

– Solid project management skills;

– Able to communicate and coordinate well with Vietnamese and international partners;
