Project assistant for Nature Conservation Projects
The Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) and the Cologne Zoo (CZ), in collaboration with the Peoples’ Committee of Quang Binh, carry out a Nature Conservation Project in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province. The activities of FZS are focused on a Primate Reintroduction Programme, while CZ engages in Wildlife Rescue & Release, Forest Protection Programmes and biological research on mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
FZS and CZ are now seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will work under direct supervision of both Project Managers.
Location of work:
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam
Main responsibilities:
– Translation of project documents and interpretation during meetings
– Assistance with project management and administration
– Supervision and maintenance of the primate semi-wild enclosure
– Coordination of field work including participation in field work
– Production of draft reports
– Assistance with the preparation of educational material
Qualification requirements:
– Fluent in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written)
– Good knowledge of MS office software (especially Word and Excel)
– University degree (biology, forestry, agriculture, other natural resource management disciplines preferred but not obligatory)
– Good interpersonal skills
– Physically fit to conduct field work
– Strong commitment to and interest in conservation and environment protection
Remuneration will be based on qualifications, previous work experience, and salary history.
