EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Vietnam Conservation Fund (VCF) is one of the four components of the Forest Sector Development Project funded by a number of partner donors and managed by the World Bank. The VCF is run by the Forest Protection Department (FPD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Vietnam Conservation Fund is now seeking qualified and dynamic individuals for the following positions:

Title: Short-term national consultants

To collect and analyze all information on financial data in 53 Special Used Forests (SUFs) identified in the Appendix 5 of the VCF Manual in the period of five years (from 2001 to 2006).

The consultants are responsible to report to the VCF manager or VCF assigned staff.

Duration: 03 months

Requirement:

Financial Analyst (Team Leader)

Qualifications: At least Master degree in Finance, Economics, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Accounting, Forestry or equivalent practical experience.

Working experience: more than 10 years with at least 3 years in project planning and management. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects

Skills and abilities: Financial, budgeting and accounting analysis skills; Good computer skills especially in Excel; Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills; Good communication and co-operation skills; Ability to work independently and within a group; Ability to work under high pressure to meet the required results and the deadline; Be honest and ethical; and knowledge of English.

Conservation Operational Analyst

Qualifications: At least Master degree in Conservation planning/management, Natural resource management, Forestry, Environmental economics, or equivalent practical experience.

Working experience: more than 5 years with at least 2 years in project planning and management. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of conservation or development projects

Skills and abilities: Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills; Good communication and co-operation skills; Good computer skills; Ability to work independently and within a group; Ability to work under high pressure to meet the required results and the deadline; Be honest and ethical; and knowledge of English

Other requirements for both positions: Working experience in large-scale projects or multi-donor funded projects is preferable, and willingness to travel to and within remote areas of the country.

Duty Station: Hanoi base but with substantial amounts of time travelling to the identified protected areas in the whole country to collect the required information.
