INFORMATION, EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION (IEC) CO-ORDINATOR

FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN THE MEKONG DELTA

CARE International in Vietnam is seeking an experienced and qualified person to fill the position of Information, Education, Communication (IEC) Co-coordinator for the project “Water and Sanitation for Rural Poor in the Mekong Delta”. This project presents an innovative approach to water and sanitation service delivery in poor and remote villages in the Mekong Delta. It will increase the number of poor households who invest in water and sanitation facilities by identifying and marketing affordable technical solutions; supporting hygiene and sanitation behavior change; and establishing integrated village level water and sanitation plans. Better access to water and sanitation will improve the health and productivity of poor rural men and women and contribute to a sustainable reduction of poverty in the target communities.

Position Summary :

The IEC Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the project counterparts and project team in development, coordination and implementation of all water and sanitation information, public health information, education and communication activities in the project. The activities will take place in both Ca Mau and Soc Trang. The IEC-Coordinator will directly work with the Women’s Unions of Ca Mau and Soc Trang and report to the Project Team Leader and Project Manager.

The primary responsibility of the IEC Coordinator will be to support the counterparts in developing and providing IEC on improved hygiene and sanitation awareness, and to bring about behavior and practice change in the project sites.

Selection criteria:

* Experience in IEC and other behavior change approaches.

* At least 2 years work experience with an international organization or NGO,

* Proven skills and experience in capacity building, management and training

* Willingness to work at the community level

* Good interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to work effectively as a team member and with minimal supervision

* Strong English language skills

* Position will be based in Soc Trang province.
